  On behalf of all staff at University Academy Upper School, we are pleased to welcome you and your student(s) into the 2023-2024 school year.  

   

  University Academy's district  mission is to prepare students to succeed in an institution of higher education and to participate as leaders in society.

   

   In addition, the Upper School Vision for 2023-2024 is:

   

  Through Academic Excellence, Cultural Relevance and Social/Emotional Intelligence, 

  University Academy Upper School will: 

  • Maintain a collaborative, mutually respectful and student centered environment 
  • Build and maintain a strong culture of school pride and connectedness 

  Upper School is a college preparatory charter school with the goal of all students not only attending college, but excelling in post secondary education.  Students must earn 26 credits, complete 100 volunteer hours in the community and have an attendance rate of 96%+ to graduate.  We are also committed to ensuring our students have the tools to be productive citizens not only in school, but in the school community as well.  We prioritize our students developing a sense of pride and connection being a Gryphon. All of this can be accomplished by building strong partnerships with families and the school community.  We look forward to a very successful year and hope you will partner with us in providing our students a safe, collaborative and rigorous educational experience! 
  
  

  Upper School believes that students should be well rounded and have opportunities to connect with peers, learn teamwork and experience leadership.  Here are a few offerings we have in place for students:

  •  Activities: Upper School offers the following clubs/activities:
    • National Honor Society, Student Council, Academic Decathlon, Film Club, Journalism Club, DECA, Gender & Sexuality Alliance, Forensics & Debate, Band, Community Service opportunities, Be the Change
  • Athletics: Upper School offers the following sports:
    • Fall: Volleyball, Football, Boys Soccer, Cross Country, Cheer
    • Winter: Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Wrestling, Cheer
    • Spring: Track & Field, Girls Soccer, Baseball
