    Greetings Lower School Families!

Check out the Meet the Teacher Presentation from Aug 2023.

Welcome back to University Academy for the 2023-2024 school year! We hope this letter finds your family in good health and high spirits. As we begin another exciting academic year, we are delighted to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. Your continued support and partnership are invaluable to us as we strive for excellence in education.

We are thrilled to share that we have been diligently preparing for this new school year, with a focus on enhancing our educational programs, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for each and every one of our students, and fostering college and career ready learners. Our dedicated team of education professionals and staff members are eager to continue creating a positive and engaging learning atmosphere where every child can grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

This year, we aim to build upon our past achievements and introduce consistent high leverage  approaches to teaching and learning. Our commitment to providing a well-rounded education remains steadfast, with a strong emphasis on fostering critical thinking, high engagement, and problem-solving skills in our students.

To ensure that our students receive the best education possible, we will be implementing initiatives, such as:
    • New Curriculum Enhancements: Our teachers have incorporated new teaching methodologies in all subject areas to make lessons more interactive and relevant to real-life experiences. Including the incorporation of 1:1 technology in grades 3-5.
Responsive and Restorative Culture: We believe in the understanding that all students deserve a culture where they feel seen, heard, and valued. It is important to reinforce acceptable behaviors for students and teach strategies that maintain a restorative and positive culture.
    • Parent-Teacher Collaboration: We believe that open communication between parents and teachers is vital for a student's success. We encourage you to actively participate in your child’s education endeavors and engage with us throughout the year.
    • Safety Measures: As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are paramount. We continuously strive to maintain a high level of safety protocols to promote a healthy school environment.
Moreover, we will continue to organize parent-teacher conferences and school events, such as showcases, music concerts, and cultural celebrations, to foster a strong sense of community within our school.

Additionally, we encourage you to stay connected with us through our school website, newsletters, and social media channels. These platforms will provide you with essential updates, announcements, and information about upcoming events. NOTE: All parents should receive an email communication letter with student information for the 2023-2024 school year by August 1, 2023. This information will include bus transportation(if applicable), specifics about meet the teacher night, teacher information, and other important topics. Below this letter, you will also find relevant links as a helpful road map into the beginning of this new school year.

If you have any questions or concerns at any point during the academic year, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We value your feedback and are always here to support you and your child's educational journey.
