Jennifer Redmond


 I am in my 8th year of teaching, and I am so blessed to be a part of the University Academy family. In the past I taught 6th grade at a charter school called Imagine Renaissance Academy, which closed in June 2012. I love working with my Kindergarten students. I recently graduated with my Masters in Language and Literacy from the University of Missouri Kansas City. I love to take my dog for walks and I like going out to eat! I also enjoy traveling and photography. I am looking forward to a fabulous 2016-2017 school year. Go Gryphons!!

    Our learning goals in reading are:

    I can student to name parts of reader's workshop. 
    I can take care of books.
    I can name parts of a book.
    I can read a book by reading the pictures, reading the words, or retelling a familiar story.
    I can share a book and listen to a book with a partner.
    I can use my pointer finger to track print from top to bottom and left to right.

    Our learning goals in Math are:

    I can count and write numbers 1-20.
    I can identify things that are the same.
    I can identify things that are different.

    Please read with your student or have them read to you for 15-20 minutes
    every night.

      • Miss Redmond's Reminders:
      • Parents are welcome in my classroom any time! Please try to make an appointment. I would love to have parent volunteers come in and read to my class from 1:40-2:05 on Mondays thru Thursdays.
      • Reading logs in your child's Bee Book need to be filled out with the books you read every night.
      • The Kindergarten Sight Word list is in your child's Bee Book. Please go over the monthly list of sight words with your child every night.
      • Homework is sent home every Monday and is to be completed and returned every Friday.
      • Students do have a behavior chart in their BEE books. Please have conversations with your student about their day.
