Jackie DiPasquale

Hello folks -- I am Jackie DiPasquale, born and raised in Kansas City, MO about a mile from University Academy. I attended JC Nichols elementary school, which is now Academy Lafayette, and Southwest High School. I went away to college in Wisconsin, and got a Master's in Energy and Environmental Policy from Washington University in St. Louis. Also I have a Master's in Education from Wilmington College in Delaware, where I lived for 15 years.  I learned American Sign Language at Gallaudet University and have been an interpreter for Deaf people off and on for more than 30 years.

My family is:  a wonderful daughter, Laura, who lives in Philadelphia, a gentleman friend named Dudley Burt, my 85-year-old mother who lives 5 blocks from me, a brother and sister-in-law, and a cat named Mr. Meow, who is a joy. I love all animals.

I love that the mission of University Academy is preparing students for college. I truly believe that you can open your eyes to the world through education and travel.

My goals for my students are to begin that process of learning about the world and seeing where they fit. I want them to understand the interconnectedness of people globally, and to feel responsibility for all creatures on the Earth.
