As a Charter School located within the boundaries of the Kansas City, Missouri school district, staff members must become members of the Kansas City Public School Retirement System (KCPSRS). Participation means that a percentage of your income is withheld from your gross pay (before taxes are taken out). Effective January 1, 1999, the percent of income withheld for your retirement is 7.5%. As your employer, the University Academy also contributes 7.5%. Once you acquire 5 years of creditable service, you will be vested in the retirement plan.
