University Academy Lower School Parents,

As the holiday break approaches, I want to make you aware of an opportunity we have been able to create for those of you with Lower School students in need of structured childcare starting in January.   We know many of you have to go back to work after the new year.

The YMCA has been running "Learning Pods" around the metro area this fall for students attending virtual school, but in need of daytime oversight.   Students are typically grouped in a size of 12 or less.  A trained YMCA staffer oversees the group and helps them with their online learning.

UA has offered to house up to 40 UA students in four different learning pods and pay for up to 50% of the cost on behalf of our families.   If you are interested, please see this letter from the YMCA for more details and follow their link to start the registration process or ask questions.  If enough students sign up to create the pod, we will keep them going until we are able to offer in-person instruction later in the semester.
