Please join us on Tuesday, February 4th for our Black History kickoff assemblies. The updated times are listed below. In addition to our kickoff, we are excited to introduce our school-wide Black History door museum tours. Throughout the month students will be learning and working together on decorating classroom doors with information about history makers from the past and present. Students will tour the door museums on February 28th. If you would like to schedule a museum tour, contact Mrs. Kivett at 816-412-5976 or

This year, UA has partnered with the local organization, U-ROC (Uniting and Reclaiming Our Community), to offer additional resources and opportunities for families to get involved in community building.   The following events are sponsored and run by U-ROC and are available to all.

Week 2 – Friday, February 14, 2020 Now accepting greeting cards.  

Focus on Love, Kindness, Empathy and Perseverance Support those affected by gun violence. Mail or drop off a greeting card.  Join PARDON SCHOLARS on Facebook at 6pm.


Week 3 – Friday, February 21, 2020

Focus on Unity In solidarity, wear orange to symbolize the value of human life. Share your anti- gun violence messages and pictures on Facebook. Join PARDON SCHOLARS live on Facebook at 6pm. 


Week 4 – Friday, February 28, 2020

Focus on Conflict Resolution Free conflict resolution workshop for ages 18 and up from 6pm-8pm Call 816-508-5656 to RSVP. Bring a Friend or family member. Join PARDON SCHOLARS live on Facebook at 6pm.
